Letter: We need reliable power in Michigan

wind turbines and solar panels

Will Kenworthy, Vote Solar’s Regulatory Director, Midwest wrote a letter to the Detroit News calling for reliable power in our state. He wrote:

“In 2023, access to electricity shouldn’t be a gamble, but a given. Distributed energy resources (DERs) are small-scale generation units that produce energy near where it is needed — for example, a solar array paired with battery storage at an individual business or family home. Increasing access to DERs, like solar panels and batteries, can help prevent future blackouts and save lives in the Great Lakes State. It’s the collaboration between utility companies like DTE, our state legislators, and grid operators that can make this possible. ”
